Blue Goddess Maxi Dress

I was instantly drawn to this beautiful maxi dress at Banana Republic thinking it would be the perfect dress to wear on a luxurious resort getaway. Well I was glad I bought the dress as my husband was invited to his works Elite Retreat at The Breakers in West Palm Beach for all their hard work in 2015! I was so excited and this was one of the first dresses that went into my suitcase. The key to a maxi dress for me is to be able to dress it up or down and make you feel wonderful. I paired the dress with these simple gladiator style flats from Aldo, simple accessories and of course my favorite Saint Laurent handbag.

We shot a few pictures (sorry for the slightly blurry quality they're from my iPhone) before a delicious dinner at the The Italian Restaurant at The Breakers. We were both seriously so stuffed from the yummy food. After dinner we made our way to the infamous lounge HFM (named after the resort’s founder, Henry Morrison Flagler). I’ll be doing a recap of The Breakers resort so stay tuned!

I found the CUTEST shorts at Zara earlier in the week and I couldn't wait to wear them! They have such a fun print and you can dress them up so easily.  I naturally wore them the first chance I got (ladies - you know what I am talking about!) and they were super super super comfortable all day!

I'm sharing an effortless and super cute dress today on the blog. Sometimes when you're on the go you just want a dress that you can throw on with a simple pair of sandals and be on your way! I was running out to grab lunch with the hubby and thought that this Eyelet Daybreak Dress would be perfect for the occasion.  PS: I found the same Eyelet Daybreak Dress on sale at Madewell (linked above)!

Weekend Trip to Los Angeles

The past two weeks have been so crazy busy! I was in Vegas for a girls trip the weekend of July 4th and this past weekend my husband and I went to LA for a good friend’s wedding (yes I flew to Vegas, flew back to Philly, and flew back to LA!). When we were in LA we were on crunch time so I wanted to squeeze in as many sights I could see into half a day.

We had some time Thursday evening when our flight got in and took a drive over to the Santa Monica Pier. We had dinner with our friends at Misfit (the food was very yummy!) and then walked over to the Pier. I was slightly disappointed that by the time we got there everything was pretty much closed but it was nice to walk up and down the pier. I'm sure it would have been so nice during the day.

The next day we had half a day on Friday to see some of the sights before our friends wedding festivities kicked off. One of the sights we really enjoyed while we were out in LA was the Griffith Observatory. The Griffith Observatory doesn’t open until about noon so we made sure to get their early before the crowds. We had so many beautiful views of LA and of course, had a great view of the Hollywood sign!  After that we drove over to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was super crowded but it was fun to see all the stars and take pictures with our favorite ones! After that our last stop was Beverly Hills because I wanted to see what the hype was around Rodeo Drive. Rodeo Drive definitely did not disappoint and there were so many amazing stores! Also, I would say Beverly Hills was so nice and lush with so many beautiful palm trees. I could have spent a whole day there if I could!

As a sidenote, I wore this super comfortable skort (yes I said skort you're probably thinking "wow I haven't worn one since I was like 10!") but this was sooo comfortable! I wanted to buy them in a few different colors but my local Express in downtown Philadelphia was out of them!

Weekend trip to Connecticut

This summer has been so busy! Last weekend my husband, brother, and I went to visit my parents in Connecticut.  On Saturday we took a trip to Thimble Islands in Stony Creek, CT and then had lunch at the Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, CT. It was such a wonderful day with perfect temperatures – think mid 80s, nice breeze, and low humidity! I always say that summers in Connecticut (and New England in general) are the BEST!

Thimble Islands is an archipelago consisting of small islands in Long Island Sound.  It’s located around the harbor of Stony Creek.  People have made beautiful summer houses and there is a cute boat tour that takes you around the islands. Each house is so different and gorgeous in its own way.

After the boat tour, we drove on over to Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, CT. We had lunch there and relaxed.  It was such a fun day!
