Valentine's Day is literally around the corner (15 more days to be exact)! One of the reasons why I love this holiday is that it's one day in the year acceptable to wear pink or red in any way, style and form possible.

This year I didn't want to wear a red dress - I know it's the exact opposite of what alot of women do but think about it.. who really wants to be out and about in a dress freezing their butt off in the cold? Also (and the most important reason) it's an outfit that most people would instantly think of!  I decided to take the unconventional route this year and styled a Valentine's Day look with this cozy pink knit sweater which is perfect for a Valentine's Day date night, a causal night out, or even a night in!  You can dress this sweater up with heels or with a more casual look in a pair of flats. 

I also love that this sweater has a hole-knit pattern at the front and on the sleeves. The sleeves are also balloon shape (which is trending right now!) and really takes this knit sweater to the next level. This sweater also comes in a beautiful red color for those that want something brighter. I linked a few other cute pink sweaters below.

Don't you love when you put on an outfit and instantly feel so chic and put together? This is one of those moments that I had. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love these high-waisted pants (or known to some as the "paper-bag pant"). Just something about them makes an outfit look amazing so follow my suggestions below on how to wear these high-waisted pants!

Wear High-Waisted Pants With a Tucked in Top

First and foremost, what’s the point of wearing high-waisted pants if you’re going to be covering them with an untucked top? It's so important that the pants are the focus of this outfit and that they don't get overshadowed with an oversized top or one that is untucked.

Porportions

Proportions are super important when wearing high-waisted pants. As mentioned above, high-waisted pants are in my opinion worn best with a shirt tucked in to balance out the look. This also helps to accentuates your waist and creates that beautiful hourglass figure. Also, avoid blouses and shirts that are too baggy as it will make you seem larger. Lastly, make sure to play with the length of the pants, you don't want them too short so I suggest ankle or longer length - which leads into my next topic below.

Length

I always love a good heel with a pair of high-waisted pants to create an illusion of long length and adds height. Also, since these pants in particular are ankle length, a heel works best. I also like to play with length of an outfit and putting it all together by adding a long jacket to finish off the look.

I hope everyone had a good long weekend! I wore this outfit out for dinner over the weekend on Friday. We went to our friends house for pre-dinner drinks and then headed to Sampan for dinner.  I highly recommend the edamame dumplings, soup dumblings, kimchee fried rice, and the brussell sprouts (they are seriously SO good!). The rest of the weekend was low key and extremely chilly! And how about that Eagles win on Saturday?!

One thing that I love is pairing fun blouses with wardrobe staples. It's such an effortless yet chic look - and it's so easy to pull together! I like how this ruffle embroidered blouse from Zara is semi-sheer with a round neck and mini ruffles. The blouse has long sleeves so it's perfect for wearing through multiple seasons (can't wait to wear this in the spring with white jeans or shorts). One item that I can never get enough of during the cold months are long cozy vests. I seriously love to wear them all the time and they go well as layering pieces! The one I am wearing in the photos above is from SheIn.  It is not only super affordable but the vest comes in a thick material and looks great. One of my favorite pants I've worn over the holidays are these beautiful red lace pants by JCrew! Some of my favorite features about these lace pants is that the material is very comfortable and there is an elastic band which makes them so easy to wear! I paired these red lace pants with a simple white blouse from Zara. These red lace pants would also be absolutely perfect for Valentine's Day or a Day Night! Also, the best part? On another note, hope all my East Coast readers are doing okay in this snow storm! We got about 4-5 inches here in the City of Philadelphia. The snow looks so beautiful but it's a nightmare trying to venture outside especially since it's so windy out!
