Best Dressed at the 2014 Academy Awards

Last night at the 2014 Oscars, celebrities packed on the glitz, glamour, and their best outfits.  Many celebrities graced the red carpet of the 86th Academy Awards and looked oh so fabulous! I would have to say that I love watching all the award shows, especially the Academy Awards, just to see what all the stars are wearing.  Here are My Golden Beauty's Top Three Academy Awards picks!

Lupita Nyong'o has once again gotten the nail on the head. In a stunning baby blue Prada dress and a diamond studded headband, Lupita looked beautiful!  I would have to say that Lupita is definitely on a red hot red carpet streak.

Up next is the beautiful Kate Hudson who always looks stunning on the red carpet. This year Kate Hudson rocked a plunging neckline Atelier Versace gown.

Last, but not least, I felt that Camilla Avles in a peach colored Dolce & Gabbana dress looked amazing!

Valentine's Day Date Night Outfit

This weekend my fiancé and I celebrated Valentine's Day. We got massages in the morning and then went out to dinner to one of our favorite sushi places.  It was a really nice relaxing day (and much needed too)! For the dinner date I wanted to wear something pink and girly - I thought my pink sweater dress from BCBG Max Azria (the Elandra Pleated Ottoman-Stitch Dress) would be PERFECT for the occasion!

The dress is a short sleeve sweater dress with pleats.  The dress is super comfy yet chic!

How amazing is this belt? I love the beautiful stone work and the details. Also, as an added bonus (and why I love this belt so much) is that this belt is adjustable!

Ah yes. The faux fur vest. One of the hottest trends this winter! I LOVE faux fur vests - dress them up or down they are effortless and super chic!

Since it's been super cold over on the east coast, my favorite accessory to combat the cold is a faux fur vest! New Years Wishes & Outfit Ideas!

I am very happy to say that my website has been up and running for a year. This year has been filled with many new experiences and lots of learning! None of this would have been possible without any of my readers and I just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to you all! On an exciting note, there will be many posts and a variety of new projects coming next year!

Since New Years is only hours away and many of us probably still don't know what to wear tonight, there is still time to find that perfect outfit to bring in the New Year! Here are a couple of tips and top fashion trends for New Years:

A faux fur vest (gilet) has been very popular for the winter.  It is SUCH a statement piece and is so versatile.  It is also very animal friendly as it is not real fur.  Throw a faux fur vest over a blouse paired with black skinny jeans or over a dress to make a statement!  Don't be afraid to experiment with textures and styles.

Go for a dress that is comfortable.  You don't want to be pulling down your dress every 5 minutes.  Most likely you'll be in your dress for hours so make sure to choose something comfortable.  Consider a silhouette that is appropriate for your figure, for example, an A-line dress (my personal favorite) or empire waist!
