Current Indian Fashion of Anarkali Suits

A few weekends ago I attended a reception in which I decided to wear a fancy, very colorful, and bright anarkali suit since I hadn't dressed up in Indian clothing or even attended an Indian wedding since last year.

Anarkalis are usually worn during party occasions which make you look and feel glamourous.  These outfits are extremely stylish and are also very comfortable.  There are so many different colors, styles, out there - the options are endless!

So what exactly is an anarkali?  An anarkali suit is basically a long frock which is tighter in the chest area and then flares out towards the bottom. The pants that you pair with the anarkali suit are tight like leggings.  The sleeves are usually made out of a net material.  Sleeve length can be anywhere from long sleeves, three-quarter sleeves, or half sleeve.  It's really whatever your preference is.

The outfit I wore is absolutely stunning and pictures don't do it justice. The mixture of hot pink, purple, turquoise, and blue colors mixed in with gold coloring is very beautiful.  The detail on the neck area is stunning specifically with the colored beading along with the gold and silver beading.

Since the neck and chest area were heavily beaded, I decided to not wear a necklace and went with dangling earrings instead.  I also wore purple and gold colored bangles and also gold colored heels.

I also decided to keep the hair simple yet elegant in a low bun. I loved the way my hair came out! It's basically two buns made to look like one large bun.  I did a side part with it also. This hairstyle looks like you spent a lot of time on it but in all actuality it only took me about 10-15 minutes!

I hope you guys like the outfit! Also if any of you guys would like to see a hair tutorial in the future please let me know by using the comment section!

Review of Tory Burch Caroline Elastic Trim Ballerina Flats

I absolutely love the Tory Burch Caroline Elastic Trim Ballerina Flats. The pair I purchased was a nude color with a wide elastic trim and with the gold Tory Burch logo.  These flats are chic, cute, and what I would consider an investment piece.

I did a lot of research before I splurged on these flats. There were quite a few things I considered before deciding on which flats to purchase. I call this "My 5 Rules of Making a Decision on an Investment Shoe."

One - Why you want designer flats? I was on the hunt for a chic, nude colored shoe that would instantly pull any outfit together. I wanted something that was light in color for spring and summertime that would not only be perfect for work but also for going out.  I also own other Tory Burch products and I have never been disappointed.

Two - How many times do you plan on wearing them? I have a corporate job and also walk around alot in the city, plus I could pair them with any outfit due to the neutral color. I also do wear flats to casual places when heels aren't really appropriate.

Three - What is the material of the shoe and what color would you get the most use out of? These flats are made out of leather. Although they are of good quality I probably would not wear these flats in the rain. Currently I wear black, gold, and nude flats consistently. These new flats would replace my current nude flats and would fit perfectly in the rotation.

Four - Is this something you really need or is this an impulse buy? I've actaully been wanting these flats for the last few months. When making a decision do NOT buy on impulse. Look at the item, go home, do some research, and think about it for a couple of weeks. If you're still wanting the item weeks later then go for it!

Five - Ask yourself does the size run true or is it too small or big? These shoes run true to size - I always get a size 9 and I was happy with my decision. The flats are a tad tight on the sides but they stretch out after a few wears. The shoe will stretch and conform to your feet. Comfort is key. There is no point on spending $200+ on shoes if they are not comfortable. The elastic band on the top of the shoe makes the flats very comfortable.

All in all I am very happy with my decision!

Outfit of The Day Pink Work Outift

This morning when I woke up I looked outside the window and knew it was going to be a warm sunny day.  That instant I knew I wanted to wear a bright, spring dress to work!  I absolutely love the color on this Anne Klein dress and it looks great on a tan complexion! I paired the dress with simple, black pumps and my Tory Burch wallet.

DSW Launches Luxury Designer Site Luxe810

Designer Shoe Warehouse ("DSW") has a great new addition to their website. DSW recently launched Luxe810, at dsw.com/luxe810, which is their luxury designer shoe collection.  For those who are not familiar with DSW, DSW is a branded footwear retailer.  DSW has any sort of shoe imaginable for children, men, and women at discounted prices.  Women's shoes consist of sneakers, heals, flats, boots, booties, wedges, sandals, flip flops, special occasion shoes, etc, etc, etc.

I checked out Luxe810 and although prices are still steep even at their discounted rate, I added some shoes to my wish list.  A girl can dream, right?  Their luxury collection features designer shoes such as Gucci, Miu Miu, Sergio Rossi, Giuseppe Zanotti, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Jimmy Choo, Yves Saint Laurent, Burberry and Prada just to name a few.

Below are my favorite picks from left to right!

I love the pink color on the Sergio Rossi Patent Leather Pumps (Sale $249.95) in Pink. The pumps have a pointed toe, 3 3/4 inch heel, leather sole and are lined in leather.  The color is what attracted me to these pumps as they are perfect for the upcoming spring and summer.  As an added bonus, they look super comfortable.  These pumps will surely spruce of up any outfit!

The second pair are these super fun Herve Leger Olesia Leather Strappy Sandals (Sale $399.95) in Black.  These sandals have a back zipper, almond shape toe and a 4 inch heel. I absolutely love all the straps on these sandals.  The sandals are so different from your standard black sandal and would spice up a little black dress (or ANY dress) or would spice up a casual outfit with jeans or black pants.

The third pair are the Givenchy Leather Ankle Strap Sandal (Sale $499.95) in Sand. The sandals have an ankle strap with an adjustable buckle, almond shape toe and a 4 4 1/2 inch heel.  I could see these sandals being paired with a bright dress, a little black dress (LBD), a sequin dress, leggings, jeans, etc! These sandals can pretty much be paired with any outfit due to the neutral color.

Last but not least I absolutely loveeee the Giuseppe Zanotti Leather Plate Sandals (Sale $1,195.95) in Blush.  The sandals have these really cool gold colored plates running in the front, back zipper, round peep toe, and a 4 1/4 inch heel.  However, realistically the price is very steep but I do love the look and design.

I also wanted to add that from March 4-12, 2013 if you have a rewards card you can recived $40 off $199, $100 off $399, or $299 off $599 with code "LUXE810."  It's super easy to sign up for their rewards card - you can do it online!   Have any of you checked out their webiste yet?

Outfit of The Day

So I thought once a week or bi-weekly I would start doing a round-up of my outfit of the day "OOTD" as some of you might call it. Originally I was not going to post my personal outfits as it is a little nerve wrecking receiving feedback and throwing it all out there. However, one of my friends suggested I should put up some of my own looks on my blog.

I would say that my style is trendy mixed with basics. I like to mix the current trends with pieces from different seasons and also with pieces from previous years. I am a strong believer in splurging on accessories (i.e. jewelry, shoes and handbags) versus clothing as trends change so frequently. I usually splurge on clothing if its something I really really really want or if it's an outfit for work which I know I will re-wear.

This picture was taken in Rittenhouse Square yesterday before heading to the shops on Walnut Street. Unfortunately it was rather windy and cloudy out and it rained Saturday so it was rather gloomy outside. Also I was only able to get one picture with my camera before it died and the second one was taken with my phone (my apologizes for the picture being a tad blurry). I should have made sure my camera was charged before heading out shopping (note to self!).  I also posted the outfit on instagram so for you that follow me it might look familiar.
