Golden Globe Beauty's

Last night the A-list stars strutted their stuff down the red carpet for the Golden Globes. It seemed to be a common theme to be wearing a long gown with a slit up the side.  As I thought many of the stars looked fabulous, my top two favorite picks of the night had to be Jennifer Lopez and Eva Longoria.   

Jennifer Lopez rocked a long-sleeve, figure hugging, long, ivory embroidered lace dress by Zuhair Murad. Her hair was swept to one side - can we say ulta-glam waves? She also rocked nude Christian Louboutin's.. which (of course) I love!

On the other end of the spectrum Eva Longoria rocked a long, black lace Emilio Pucci Gown. The glamorous gown had a tigh-high slit which showed off her perfectly toned leg. Eva wore peep toe pumps by Charlotte Olympia and Martin Katz jewelry. For her hair, Eva had an up-do which I personally liked even though it looked a little high on top.

Faux Fur Fashion Trend

A must have fashion trend for the winter season is the faux fur vest. Faux fur is not only timeless, but is also a classic staple in any wardrobe. This winter, the classic trend got an update by stores offering various colors, lengths, and styles.

During a recent shopping trip on Walnut street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania I scoped out a couple of faux fur vests. I fell in love with this grey one at Club Monaco (On sale $139).

It is also important to rock one piece at a time and not to over-do it. For instance, the grey vest from Club Monaco I would pair with heels or boots, black pants, and a simple long sleeve shirt or blouse underneath. The key is to make the faux fur vest stand out and become the statement piece of the outfit.

Faux fur accessories are also on trend. Hats, gloves, scarves, and boots with the faux fur trim are everywhere!

Bringing in the New Year

What a better way to start off the new year than with the launch of my new blog and a piece on New Year's Eve looks?  

Before the ball drops to bring in the new year we get one last fashion look of the year.  New Year's Eve is all about the glam, unlike other holiday's during the year.  This celebration calls for glitter, sequins, and metallics!

For a glam night out on the town I would go opt for a sparkly or sequin dress.  For some reason I always gravitate towards black clothing, maybe because it's sliming, and I am in love with this black Morris sequined cocktail dress from BCBGMAXAZRIA ($448).  For a more affordable dress, the Paillette Bodycon Dress from Forever 21 is a great option ($34.80).

For a dinner date or a night in with friends or family I would opt for a sweater dress paired with black tights and a pair of booties.  For new years I decided to rock the Keeley Zigzag Jacquard sweater dress from BCBGMAXAZRIA ($268).  As the dress was not sparkly or filled with sequins I paired this with big glamorous curls, a smokey eye, and nude lips.  I personally love sweater dresses as they are extremely comfortable but yet very stylish if paired with the right accessories.
