Hello 2019!

I hope all of you had a joyful and happy new year! If you follow me along on Instagram you know that I recently returned from Arizona where we spent about a week with my in-laws. Unfortunately it was actually cooler there than it was here on the east coast so that was a little disappointing! But nevertheless, we still had a great time with our family and friends. We returned last Wednesday and I am ready to take on the new year!

One thing that I have plenty of in my closet but don’t wear enough is the blazer! A blazer is one of those staple pieces in your wardrobe that never go out of style. My favorite way to wear a blazer is paired with jeans. When worn correctly it can complete any outfit and make it look polished!

Here are my tips on how to wear a blazer with jeans.

  • It’s About The Fit: The most important thing to look for in a blazer is the fit and sizing. A blazer should be tailored and structured to fit your body like this blazer from Nordstrom.

  • Pair with Solid Colors - Blazers, in my opinion, are best done when layering with solid colors. If you are doing a printed blazer such as this tweed blazer then wear a solid shirt underneath. If you are doing a solid blazer such as this black one then you can get away with wearing a fun print. I personally like to keep things monochromatic and simple.

  • Wear a Structured Shoe - I like to pair a blazer with pointy heels. Shoes really make an outfit and pull it all together. If you don’t like pointy heels then a pair of chic flats are perfect!

  • Accessorize - Add stylish accessories for a chic style. I love layering necklaces and combining them with a simple pair of diamond stud earrings.

  • Have Fun With It - Have your personally stand out in your outfit and have fun with it! You can wear a blazer so many different ways! This velvet blazer is so fun and dreamy!
